Our Mission

Our aim is to provide an overnight safe space for

children aged 4-11. We look to facilitate a calming environment, where your child can enjoy relaxation practices, self compassion, gratitude and kindness.

"It is normally at night that our little ones are most open to deep and meaningful conversations. All children who stay with us at Sleep Out are provided with the opportunity to speak up, be heard and feel significant."

We base our settings around the 6 core human needs of a child

Certainty

Certainty

The need for safety, stability, security, comfort, order, predictability, control and consistency. We do this by offering children a safe place with qualified and certified staff, a comfortable sleeping area and a nighttime routine. Parts of the sessions' agenda will be the same each week, and familiar to the child.

Love and Connection

Love and Connection

The desire for communication, approval and attachment is fulfilled through connections and love of other human beings. It is important that your child feels comfortable and able to communicate freely in our setting, which we achieve in a support group, with other children communicating and learning about each other.

Uncertainty/ Variety

Uncertainty / Variety

The need for variety, excitement, difference, adventure, change and novelty is fulfilled in coming to a different place and doing exciting activities that are varied each week.

Growth

Growth

The need for constant emotional, intellectual and spiritual development, is achieved in many ways throughout the session, with mindfulness practice and emotional intelligence activities.

Significance

Significance

The need to be needed, to feel important and be worthy of love.  Through our self love, gratitude and kindness lessons, we teach children about how important they are to their whole family, and to us as a valued member of the group setting.

Contribution

Contribution

The need to give beyond ourselves, to give, care, protect and serve others can be seen in many of the caring activities we carry out with the children. They will experience first-hand how it feels to contribute to both individuals within the group and the group as a whole.
